How to change case sensitivity for user names

Last Updated: 9 years ago case-sensitive login names

By default, Cyfin and CyBlock do not treat user names as being case-sensitive. This can be adjusted by editing the appropriate file.

  1. Stop the Cyfin or CyBlock service.
  2. Navigate to …\Wavecrest\Cyfin\wc\cf\db.
    – For CyBlock: …\Wavecrest\CyBlock\wc\cyblock\db
  3. In an editor, open cfs.cfg.
    – For CyBlock: cbs.cfg.
  4. Find the line LOGIN_NAME_CASE_SENSITIVITY=off.
  5. If the flag is set to on, “UserID” and “userid” will be treated as unique user names.
  6. Restart the service.
