v9.1.0 Release Notes for CyBlock Appliance

Enhancements

  • Application Controls. The following features have been added:
    • The Application Controls page gives you the ability to allow only specific YouTube videos.
    • On this page, you can associate an allowed YouTube video with your blocking policies for Web Categories in which TV/Video Streaming is blocked.
    • A number of video ID formats are accepted.
    • The extracted video ID allows that video to be played if TV/Video Streaming is blocked in the selected blocking policy.
    • To use this feature, users should not be logged on to YouTube or any other Google app.
    • Go to Web Management – Application Controls to access this page.
  • Authentication Manager. This includes the following changes:
    • Cookie authentication is now available providing you with another type of proxy authentication to support your organization.
    • The new Authentication Manager screen consists of the following tabs:
      • Rules – Rules for various network definitions can be set up to specify the authentication type for each entry. These entries include an individual IP address, a range of IP addresses, and a host name. Authentication can also be disabled on this tab.
      • NTLM – On this tab, you specify if Web applications that fail to authenticate will be automatically or manually bypassed. Previously, this was a page accessible from User Management – Authentication – Proxy.
      • Cookie – On this tab, you define how long the cookie will persist if using cookie authentication. You can also specify and preview the details of your cookie authentication logon page, such as your company logo and AUP text.
      • Bypass – This tab allows you to automatically or manually bypass Web applications that do not authenticate. Previously, this was a page accessible from User Management – Authentication – Manager.
      • Cache – This tab allows you to set up login name caching to cache the user name and IP address of every authenticated user. Previously, this was a page accessible from User Management – Authentication – Login Caching.
    • The Authentication menu item has been moved to the top of the User Management menu. The Manager, Login Caching, and Proxy submenu items have been removed.
    • Go to User Management – Authentication to access this page.
  • E-Mail Address for Cookie Authentication. This includes the following changes:
    • An E-Mail Address field has been added on the following pages and applies to only IDs:
      • Add Group or ID – The e-mail address for an ID must be added to use cookie authentication.
      • Modify Group or ID – The e-mail address may be modified for an ID.
      • Search for an ID – The e-mail address is display only.
    • On the Import Users page, the E-Mail field is available as an optional column position and is displayed in the preview.
    • When importing from Active Directory, the e-mail address for each ID is imported and displayed in the E-Mail Address field.
  • Cookie Authentication Logon. The following features have been added:
    • When cookie authentication is enabled and a user tries to access a Web site, a logon page is displayed that will allow users to create an account.
    • The logon page also allows users to reset their password if forgotten.
    • When entering their credentials (i.e., e-mail address and password), you can require users to agree to the AUP before continuing on by configuring this option on the Authentication Manager – Cookie tab.
    • Once credentials are entered, the user will be redirected to the Web site.
  • Real-Time Web Monitor. This includes the following changes:
    • In the setup screen and monitor, under Display Options, the Authentication Type check box allows you to see the type of proxy authentication next to the user name in the monitor (e.g., user(cookie)). This feature is helpful for Technical Support.
    • Cookie authentication redirects (http://my.cyblock/auth.php?redir=) are displayed with category “Other.”
  • Wildcard Entries in SSL Inspection. The Domain Exceptions list now matches the following wildcard entries in domains with URLs in the URL List:
    • *.mydomain.com
    • www.mydomain.*
    • *.mydomain.*
  • Knowledge Base. The Wavecrest Knowledge Base has replaced the Forum and will provide immediate 24/7 support to our global customer base. Customers will be able to quickly find the answers they are looking for. This includes the following changes:
    • An enhanced search tool shows relevant results as you type in the search field.
    • You can easily access product release notes, the Wavecrest Web site, and the Wavecrest Blog.
    • In the product, “Forum” has been renamed to “Knowledge Base” in the Help – Support menu.
    • On the Check for Product Updates page, the Release Notes link now points to the product release notes in the knowledge base.

Corrections

  • Add/Modify Group or ID. A group name or a user name can now be pasted into the Group or ID Name field. Previously, this action produced an error.
  • Restart or Shutdown. In the Type field, the option Restart Software has been renamed to “Restart Service.”
  • E-Mail Server Authentication. E-mail server authentication now works for e-mail messages sent from the product e-mail.
