v9.7.3 Release Notes for CyBlock Appliance

Enhancements

  • Proxy
    • Enforcing safe search for Added Reddit and DuckDuckGo when setting is enabled.
    • Searches on Reddit and DuckDuckGo can now also be blocked in the Blocked Search Term policy.
    • Remove ulimit limitation override in the product that was limiting the amount of connections the proxy could handle.
  • Health Status
    • Notification Icon
      • Updated notification bell icon in the upper right hand corner of menu bar to change color based on the overall health status of the product.  
    • Home Page
      • Overall system status on the home page now includes checking the metric server health. The status will now show red if the metric server is not responding.
  • Categorization

      • Options
        • Added option to enable session reporting when List 10 is enabled. This setting is enabled by default for new installs, but remain off for upgrades on existing installs. When this option is enabled the available reports listed in Reports – Manager are updated to reflect the session based reporting. Interactive report is also selected as the default when Session Reporting is enabled.
      • Updates
        • List updates will now go 14 days back in the metric server and update any matching entries in the metric server to the new categories and app/site configured in the update. This will prevent having to re-import the data for the new data to take effect.
  • Reporting
    • Reports
      • NEW Sessions Analysis Report. Added new top level report focused on individual user session to Application/Sites. Session data is limited to user driven traffic and excludes all background web activity that is not generated by a person. The Session Analysis Report also includes ability to drill down to the new Session Audit Summary Report.
      • NEW Session Audit Summary Report. Added new summary report that lists the individual sessions to particular Application(s)/Site(s). Interactive Session Audit Summary reports allow to drilldown to the User Audit Detail report highlighting the individual URLs that were visited during the session to the Application/Site.
      • NEW URL Preview. Added a hover window popup when hovering over URLs in user audit detail report or over the Application/Site field.
      • NEW Category description popup. Added a hover window popup when hovering over category names in the Top Categories table in reports that display the category description.
      • Added individual delete button for each report listed in the Recent Report list in the Reports – Manage screen.
    • Sessions
      • Improved Session Analyzer by adding the following changes:
        • Increased speed and configurability by incorporating hit check into list.
        • Added session analysis results to System Health Check to identify potential issues from running analysis.
        • Added new field “vcause” to metric data indicating why a request was deemed a visit or hit.
        • Added check for repetitive URLs during analysis which are indicative of polling URLs and not human activity. These entries are stored on disk for additional review and not included in actual user sessions.
        • Apply the App/Site for the Referrer URL for the record if present.
  • Data Management
    • Import
      • Added check against list data for URLs that are not tied to any actual user activity and can be excluded from ingestion and storage.
      • Improved import speed by threading bulk inserts into metric server instead of using single broker thread.
    • Report Database

          • Added new screen to configure domains that can be prevented from being ingested in order to remove clutter and save space. Any additions will result in any entries in the metric server containing domain for the past month being removed.
  • System Optimizations
    • Optimized and enhancement performance of UI, by caching costly queries from metric server such as the distinct user list or start and stop times.
    • Replaced expensive metric server queries with point-in-time searches.
    • Sped up UI boot up responsiveness by making health checks asynchronous.
    • Added AI Assistant page in the Help section as new tool for customers to lookup resolutions to their issues.
