Enhancements

  • Dashboard Charts. This includes the following changes:
    • Under Metrics, the field has been labeled “Chart View.”
    • Under Time Frames, the field has been labeled “Date Range” and for the Custom option, “Start” and “Stop.” The new calendar icon shows three months at a time which is the same as when creating a report with the Custom time frame.
  • Wavecrest Syslog Server. The Wavecrest Syslog Server is now available and allows you to send syslog data to the server at a configured port. Previously, you would have to install and configure a syslog daemon. Go to Data Management – Log Data Source – Setup to create or modify your syslog log file configuration. You will be able to enable the syslog server, select a port type, and enter a listening port.
  • Filtering Audit Reports. The ability to filter data by user, IP address, category, search term, and URL has been added to audit reports. Note that the number of URLs in the report will affect the speed at which data is retrieved. Please wait while the data is loading. The following features have been added in the Audit Detail section of these reports:
    • Category Audit Detail, Denied Detail, Legal Liability Detail, and Site Audit Detail:
      • User filter – The field shows the selection All and all users in the report.
      • Category filter – The field shows the selection All and all categories in the report.
      • A text field allows you to enter a URL to filter on.
    • Search Terms Audit Detail:
      • User filter – The field shows the selection All and all users in the report.
      • A text field allows you to enter a search term or search term phrase to filter on.
    • User Audit Detail:
      • IP address filter – The field shows the selection All and all IP addresses in the report for the user.
      • Category filter – The field shows the selection All and all categories in the report.
      • A text field allows you to enter a URL to filter on.
    • If only one user/IP address exists or one category, the corresponding filter field is not available.
    • This feature is available for any of the English language report settings only.
  • Reports Manager. In the Reports menu, the Manager menu item has been moved to the top of the menu for easier accessibility.
  • Restart or Shutdown. The ability to restart the service for the product has been added to the interface. You will be prompted twice to confirm the restart. Go to Settings – Restart or Shutdown to access this page.
  • Knowledge Base. The Wavecrest Knowledge Base has replaced the Forum and will provide immediate 24/7 support to our global customer base. Customers will be able to quickly find the answers they are looking for. This includes the following changes:
    • An enhanced search tool shows relevant results as you type in the search field.
    • You can easily access product release notes, the Wavecrest Web site, and the Wavecrest Blog.
    • In the product, “Forum” has been renamed to “Knowledge Base” in the Help – Support menu.
    • On the Check for Product Updates page, the Release Notes link now points to the product release notes in the knowledge base.

Corrections

  • Add/Modify Group or ID. A group name or a user name can now be pasted into the Group or ID Name field. Previously, this action produced an error.
  • E-Mail Server Authentication. E-mail server authentication now works for report e-mail messages sent from the product e-mail. Previously, report e-mails were not being received.
  • Log File Configurations. When creating reports and more than one log file configuration exists, the calendar now shows the earliest date from all configurations. Previously, the latest date was showing.
  • Log Files Removed. Reports are now generated with data from imported data if log files have been removed. Previously, no data was generated on the report.
  • Reports in IE8. Reports now run properly in Internet Explorer 8. Previously, reports would not display in this version of IE.
